Both gardens have a recycling theme which Paul thinks stems from his memories of watching Blue Peter as a child and collecting bottle tops for charity! His outdoor spaces include a shelved planter made out of a palette lined with empty compost bags; flowers planted in tyres; plants in tin cans and milk cartons; all of which, Paul says, keep costs down and fit into his support for recycling where possible.
When asked about how his interest in gardening developed, Paul remembered, “My great uncle had an allotment. As a kid I grew seeds at school and found it fascinating.”
Paul was proud to say that, “People like looking at the front garden when they walk past.”
