Big Dig on Prestage Street, Old Trafford

On Saturday 31 May 2014 a small band of local residents took part in a Big Dig and planted some bee-friendly plants on a small piece of land at Prestage Street/Worthington Street, Old Trafford.

We wanted to see what local people thought of the planting, whether they wanted to see more planting, and whether they would like to get involved. The response from speaking to locals was very positive. Everyone said it looked really good and some said they would get involved next time.

We need people that live nearby to look after the plants. If you’re passing by and the plants look dry then put a bit of water on them. When they get a bit bigger you can pick some of the herbs and cook with them.

Thank you to Adactus Housing for providing vouchers for the Bee-Friendly plants. Thank you to the residents that provided some more plants and refreshments.
